On June 27, 2025, Windey officially inaugurated its Renewable Energy R&D Center in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. This milestone event was attended by distinguished guests, including Rui Costa, Chief Minister of the Brazilian Presidential Office; Jerônimo Rodrigues, Governor of Bahia; and Ricardo Alban, President of Brazil’s National Confederation of Industry. Representing Windey, General Manager Cheng Chenguang joined in marking this significant achievement.

Accelerating Collaboration: 45 Days to Reality

The R&D Center’s completion in just 45 days reflects Windey’s efficiency and its dedication to fostering Brazil’s energy transition. This achievement builds upon a pivotal meeting held in Beijing on May 12, where Windey’s Chairman, Chen Qi, and General Manager Cheng Chenguang met with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to discuss renewable energy cooperation.

The new R&D Center features completed first-phase facilities, operational offices, and advanced agrivoltaic project preparation, all delivered within an extraordinary timeframe.

Strategic Commitment to Brazil

At the ceremony, Mr. Cheng outlined Windey’s four strategic pillars for the Brazilian market:
Joint Technology Development: Advancing innovation through collaborative research.
Localized Manufacturing: Establishing production capabilities to support Brazil’s renewable energy sector.
Energy Network Optimization: Enhancing grid reliability and efficiency.
Agrivoltaic Innovation: Integrating renewable energy with agriculture to address rural electrification challenges.

Windey and CIMATEC also launched a talent exchange program, enabling Brazilian engineers to gain hands-on experience in China’s renewable energy technologies.

Recognized for Efficiency and Impact

The event highlighted Windey’s reputation for delivering high-quality projects with speed and precision. Rui Costa praised Windey’s “China speed,” calling it a testament to the potential of Sino-Brazilian partnerships. Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues emphasized Windey’s role in driving Brazil’s renewable energy development and economic sustainability.

The inauguration, attended by over 200 representatives from energy companies, government institutions, research organizations, and media, marked the beginning of a new chapter in Sino-Brazilian energy collaboration.

As Mr. Cheng stated, “The launch of this R&D Center represents not only Windey’s commitment to innovation but also a significant step forward in strengthening the green partnership between China and Brazil. Together, we are planting the seeds of a sustainable future.”
